Recently several elementary school districts in Kern County announced they will no longer conduct 8th grade “graduation” ceremonies due to the budget meltdown. Many parents were upset about the suspension of the ceremonies.

What recession?….not for one lucky developer. The city of Bakersfield City Council (Politburo) is giving 1.5 acres of taxpayer owned property to a developer to build 57 subsidized apartments.
